HLS Design was created by award winning  and passionate designer, Hania Southwell. The core value of HLS Design is that an interior should be both beautiful and practical so that it works in harmony with our self and our lives. On every project Hania listens to her clients to create a brief and applies her vast knowledge of design to create their perfect space. 

Hania has dedicated her life to design, studying it throughout school, college and university where she received a BA (Hons) in Interior Design and Decoration. She continues her studies of design even today so her bank of knowledge is vast. From colour pallets to work flows, Hania can apply her knowledge to any project.

In 2018 Hania won the KBSA 'Young Designer of the Year' with one of her kitchen designs. This was the first and only competition Hania had entered and the excitement was unbelievable. She won an education grant which she used to enrol in an online course with The Interior Design Institute to further her design knowledge and has enrolled in more courses since to ensure she is always learning more. Click here to see the award winning kitchen.

"When I submitted my design into the KBSA design awards, my last thought was winning! I received an email saying that my design had been shortlisted for 2 categories, Young Designer of the Year and Kitchen Design of the year in the £20,000 - £40,000 bracket and that I was invited to the awards ceremony where the winner would be announced. When I was there, I could see the designs that the other shortlisters had created and they were all amazing. When I was announced as the winner I could not believe it! I was so grateful to the judges and one of them said that it was my attention to detail that won me the award. This is certainly my proudest moment in my career as a designer. "

Hania applies theories from many areas including psychology, writing her dissertation on 'The Psychology of Design and the Impact Interior Design Has On Our Metal Health'. She also applies theories and skills from her other studies to her interior design work

Some of her qualifactions include BA (Hons ) in Interior Design and Decoration, Foundation Degree in Art and Design, A Levels in Photography, Textiles, Psychology and Media Studies.
